Requirements

Current vacancies are aimed at experienced professional truck drivers.

You need:

  • A valid CE-category driving licence

  • At least 6 months of international truck driving experience

  • Relevant professional and identification documents

Depending on the position and your current qualifications, you may also be expected to have:

  • Code 95 professional qualification

  • Digital tachograph driver card

  • ADR certificate for specialised or dangerous-goods transport

  • Residence or employment documentation where applicable

Basic English is generally enough for everyday communication with dispatchers, coordinators and logistics teams.

Where You’ll Drive

International freight routes connect Lithuania with the Baltic region, Central Europe and Western Europe. 

Depending on transport planning, your routes may include: 

  • Lithuania
  • Latvia 
  • Germany 
  • France 
  • Belgium 
  • The Netherlands 
  • Other European destinations 

Latvia may be included as a transit country, pickup location or delivery destination. 

Specific routes depend on cargo, customer demand and the transport company’s current logistics schedule. 

Truck Types

Lithuanian transport companies operate modern fleets with a variety of vehicles best suited for routes through Switzerland and other countries:

Standard Tautliner Common for general cargo, industrial freight, and export shipments across Europe
Refrigerated Used for temperature-controlled freight such as food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals.
BDF – SWAP Swap-body systems used in structured distribution and urban/regional logistics.
Car Transporter Specialized vehicle carriers for transport between ports, dealerships, and logistics hubs.
Cistern Liquid cargo transport (fuel, chemicals, food liquids) with high safety standards and often ADR certification.

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International truck drivers are responsible for transporting cargo safely and efficiently between Lithuania, Switzerland or other European destinations. 

Typical duties include: 

  • Pre-trip safety and vehicle inspection 
  • Receiving route planning from dispatch 
  • Supervising loading and cargo securement 
  • Driving national and border-crossing routes 
  • Tracking driving/rest time via digital tachograph 
  • Completing transport paperwork (CMR, delivery confirmation) 
  • Communicating with dispatch (often in English, German, or French) 

Lithuania’s varied weather conditions mean drivers must be both professional and adaptable. 

Working Schedule

Drivers usually work approximately 160–190 hours per month. 

The exact rotation is confirmed before the position is accepted. 

Salary and Bonuses

Current Lithuania-based international truck driver positions offer approximately €2,850–€3,350 net per month. 

The final amount can depend on: 

  • Previous professional experience 
  • Mileage 
  • International route assignments 
  • Transport type 
  • Work performance 

Additional bonuses may include ECO driving, mileage and loyalty bonuses. 

The final salary and bonus structure is tailored for the specific position during recruitment. 

Accommodation and Onboarding

If you’re relocating from abroad, our recruitment team will offer support during the initial onboarding process in Lithuania, including access to shared accommodation during the training period. 

Onboarding may involve document verification, employer procedures, training and preparation for your first working rotation. 

This gives new drivers time to become familiar with the transport company, its procedures and expectations before heading out on international assignments.
