Requirements

We are looking for truck drivers with experience in cross-border freight delivery. 

You should have the following qualifications: 

  • A valid CE-category driving licence 
  • At least 6 months of international truck driving experience 
  • Relevant identification and professional documents 

Depending on the vacancy and qualifications you already hold, you may also need: 

  • Code 95 professional driver qualification 
  • Digital tachograph driver card 
  • ADR certificate for dangerous or specialised freight 
  • Relevant residence or employment documentation 

Experience with refrigerated transport or Western European routes can strengthen your profile for certain vacancies.

Where You’ll Drive

Although your job is based in Lithuania, international freight transport involves passing through other European countries. 

Depending on current route planning, your assignments may include:

Lithuania itself is home to several keytransport and logistics hubs. Vilnius and Kaunas serve as a major distribution centres, whille Klaipėda has access to an important Baltic seaport. 

Your actual destinations depend on cargo requirements, customer orders and the transport company’s current logistics schedule. 

Truck Types

Lithuanian transport companies operate a broad range of trucks and trailers to handle different types of international freight. 

Type Used for
Standard Tautliner One of the most common options for general cargo, industrial freight, retail goods and export shipments.
Refrigerated Temperature-controlled transport for food, pharmaceuticals and other sensitive products.
BDF – SWAP Swap-body systems frequently used in structured distribution and parcel logistics networks.
Car Transporter Specialised equipment for transporting vehicles between ports, dealerships and logistics centres.
Cistern Carrying fuel, chemicals, food liquids and other liquid cargo, with ADR certification required for certain loads.
Flatbed Used for machinery, steel, construction materials and oversized freight that cannot be carried in a standard enclosed trailer.

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International truck driving combines long-distance transport with responsibility for the vehicle, freight and required documentation. 

Your regular duties may include: 

  • Completing vehicle and safety checks before departure 
  • Reviewing route plans provided by dispatch 
  • Monitoring loading and checking cargo security 
  • Driving both Lithuanian and international road sections 
  • Recording driving and rest periods with a digital tachograph 
  • Following applicable driving-time and safety requirements 
  • Completing CMR forms and delivery confirmations 
  • Confirming collections and completed deliveries 
  • Staying in contact with dispatch during the route 
  • Reporting delays, technical issues or other problems affecting the assignment

Working Schedule

Several established work rotations are available for international drivers: 

  • 8/4 
  • 10/5 
  • 12/6 

Drivers generally work approximately 160–190 hours per month. Working time, breaks and mandatory rest periods are organised according to applicable European transport regulations. 

Some positions may also offer more flexible working arrangements. The rotation connected with your vacancy will be explained before you accept the job. 

Salary and Bonuses

International truck drivers working for Lithuanian transport companies typically earn around €2,850–€3,350 net per month.

Your final earnings can vary according to:
