We connect talented candidates with international truck driving opportunities across Europe
Apply for an International Truck Driver Job
Ready to take on a well-paid international truck driving role that takes you across multiple European countries?
GOtalent recruits experienced professional truck drivers for positions based in Lithuania. You will work on routes that extend throughout all of Europe. Countries like Slovenia may be included as a transit country, pickup point or delivery destination depending on current freight demand.
What You Get
GOtalent works with Lithuanian transport companies that run international freight operations across Europe.
Depending on the vacancy, you could benefit from:
- Secure, long-term employment
- Regular cross-border driving assignments
- Experience across Central, Western and Southern Europe
- Social guarantees and employee benefits
- Additional earnings based on mileage and performance
- Relocation and onboarding support in Lithuania
- Opportunities to work with different freight and trailer types
Requirements
We are looking for truck drivers capable of taking on demands of international freight work.
Applicants should have:
- A valid CE-category driving licence
- At least 6 months of international truck driving experience
- Valid identification and relevant professional documents
Depending on the specific vacancy and qualifications you already hold, you may also need:
- Code 95 professional qualification
- Digital tachograph driver card
- ADR certificate for dangerous or liquid cargo
- Applicable residence or employment documentation
For daily communication with dispatch and logistics teams, basic English is normally enough. Slovene or German can be useful when dealing with local contacts or working on neighbouring Central European routes, but neither is a general requirement for these Lithuania-based positions.
GOtalent will review your documents and clarify the exact qualification requirements before you move forward with a vacancy.
Where You’ll Drive
International routes operated from Lithuania can take you through the Baltic region, Central Europe, Western Europe and destinations further south.
Depending on the assignment, you may drive through:
- Slovenia
- Other European destinations
Slovenia sits on several useful freight connections, making it a frequent passing point for international assignments. Ljubljana is the country’s primary distribution centre, Maribor links important road and rail corridors, and Koper provides access to one of the Adriatic region’s major ports.
A Slovenia-related assignment might involve transporting goods to a local logistics hub, collecting cargo from the region or crossing the country while travelling between Italy, Austria, Croatia or Hungary.
Your destinations are determined by customer orders, cargo requirements and the Lithuanian employer’s current transport plan.
Truck Types
Different freight calls for different equipment, so your previous truck and trailer experience can play an important role in matching you with the right vacancy.
| Type | Used for |
|---|---|
| Standard Tautliner | General cargo, retail freight, industrial goods and regular international export loads. |
| Refrigerated | Food, pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive products that require controlled conditions throughout the journey. |
| BDF – SWAP | Swap-body systems used for organised distribution, parcel logistics and scheduled freight networks. |
| Car Transporter | Specialised carriers moving vehicles between ports, dealerships and logistics centres. |
| Cistern | Fuel, chemicals and food-grade liquids, with ADR certification often required for hazardous cargo. |
| Flatbed | Machinery, steel, construction materials and oversized loads that need an open loading platform. |
Include specific details about the trucks, trailers and cargo types you have worked with when completing your application. This makes it easier for our team to filter vacancies where your existing experience is relevant.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Am I being recruited by a transport company in Slovenia?
No. You would be employed by a Lithuanian transport company, with your contract and main job base in Lithuania. Slovenia is relevant as one of the countries that may appear in your international route schedule.
Why could Slovenia feature in my assignments?
Its location puts it directly between Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary. This makes Slovenia useful both as a freight destination and as a link between Central Europe, the Adriatic region and Southeastern Europe.
Could my route involve the Port of Koper?
It could. Koper is Slovenia’s main maritime freight hub and has strong connections with European road transport. Whether you actually drive there depends on the cargo and logistics plan for your particular rotation.
What can I expect to earn?
Current Lithuania-based positions start from €2,850-€3,350 net per month. Experience, route type, mileage and applicable bonuses can influence the final amount you receive.
Would speaking Slovene improve my chances?
It can be useful locally, but it is not essential for every vacancy. Basic English is normally enough for communication with dispatch and logistics teams, while Slovene or German can be an advantage on certain routes.
Where do I stay while completing onboarding?
Your onboarding takes place in Lithuania, where the job is based. Shared accommodation is available during the training period while you complete the required preparation for your first international assignment.
