Requirements

We offer vacancies for professional drivers who already have experience working internationally. 

To be considered, you should have: 

  • A valid CE-category driving licence 
  • At least 6 months of international truck driving experience

  • Code 95 professional qualification 
  • Digital tachograph driver card

Experience with refrigerated or specialist transport can strengthen your profile for certain vacancies. 

Basic English is normally enough for routine communication with dispatchers and logistics coordinators. Italian is not generally required for these Lithuania-based positions, although knowing some Italian can be useful when dealing with delivery locations or other local contacts on routes through Italy.

International freight can involve very different equipment depending on the cargo being transported and the type of route. Lithuanian employers may offer positions involving:

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International truck drivers are responsible for safely managing both the vehicle and freight throughout the entire transport assignment. 

Your daily work may include: 

  • Inspecting the truck and trailer before departure 
  • Receiving route instructions and delivery information from dispatch 
  • Supervising loading and checking that cargo is properly secured 
  • Driving regional and long-distance international routes 
  • Recording driving and working time through a digital tachograph 
  • Following applicable rules on breaks and rest periods 
  • Completing CMR and delivery documentation 
  • Confirming collections and successful deliveries 
  • Communicating with dispatchers during the route 
  • Reporting delays, technical faults or changes affecting the assignment

Drivers usually work approximately 160–190 hours per month.

Salary and Bonuses

Current Lithuania-based international truck driver positions offer a salary of €2,850–€3,350 net per month.

Your actual monthly income will depend on:

  • Overall work performance 

Drivers have an opportunity to supplement their salary with ECO driving, mileage and loyalty bonuses.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    Would I be working for an Italian transport company?

    No. The vacancies are based in Lithuania, and your employment contract is with a Lithuanian transport company. Italy can be part of your international route without being your official place of employment. 

    You might deliver freight to Italy, collect a load there or continue through the country towards another destination. Routes can involve major northern logistics regions as well as ports and distribution centres elsewhere in Italy. 

    It can be valuable. Italy has significant food and agricultural freight activity, so drivers with refrigerated trailer experience may be a good fit for certain assignments. Other vehicle backgrounds are also considered. 

    Italian is not a standard requirement because the job itself is based in Lithuania. Basic English is usually sufficient for communication with dispatch, although knowing some Italian can make local interactions easier. 

    You should have at least 6 months of international truck driving experience and a valid CE-category licence. Include all relevant trailer, cargo and specialist experience in your application. 

    You begin with an onboarding and training stage before taking on independent routes. This period can include document checks, company procedures and preparation for your first assignment, with shared accommodation available during training.
