Apply for an International Truck Driver Job
Looking for a stable, well-paid truck driving job with plenty of international road experience?
GOtalent is recruiting professional truck drivers for positions based in Lithuania.
You will work for a Lithuanian transport company under a Lithuania-based employment contract, but your routes can cross numerous countries. Slovakia may be included as a transit country, pickup location or delivery destination depending on current freight requirements.
What You Get
GOtalent helps experienced drivers access international vacancies with Lithuanian transport companies operating throughout Europe.
We can provide:
- Long-term employment with reliable working conditions
- Regular cross-border freight assignments
- Opportunities to expand your experience on Central and Western European routes
- Social guarantees and employee benefits
- Extra earnings linked to mileage and performance
- Support with relocation and onboarding in Lithuania
- Experience with different trailers, cargo and transport networks
Requirements
We offer vacancies for truck drivers who already have experience with international road transport.
Candidates are expected to meet the following qualifications:
- A valid CE-category driving licence
- At least 6 months of international truck driving experience
- Valid identification and relevant professional documents
Depending on the vacancy, you may also need:
- Code 95 professional qualification
- Digital tachograph driver card
- ADR certificate for dangerous goods
- Applicable residence or employment documentation
For most international assignments, basic English is sufficient for communication with dispatch and logistics teams. Slovak or Czech can be useful when dealing with local contacts, but neither is a standard requirement for every Lithuania-based vacancy.
Before you proceed, GOtalent will review your qualifications and clarify exactly which documents are required for the available position.
Where You’ll Drive
Your employment starts in Lithuania, while the driving itself can take you through a broad network of European destinations.
Depending on route planning, you may travel through:
- Slovakia
- Other European countries
Slovakia occupies a strategic position in Central Europe, with road corridors connecting Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czechia and Poland. This makes the country relevant to many longer international routes moving freight between different parts of Europe.
An assignment involving Slovakia could mean crossing the country on the way towards Austria or Hungary, delivering cargo locally or collecting freight for onward transport.
Your actual destinations depend on current orders, cargo requirements and the Lithuanian employer’s logistics schedule.
Truck Types
Cross-border freight in and around Slovakia or other European countries can involve several truck and trailer configurations, depending on the goods being transported.
| Type | Used for |
|---|---|
| Standard Tautliner | General cargo, industrial products and export freight moving between European markets. |
| Refrigerated | Food, pharmaceuticals and perishables requiring controlled temperature conditions. |
| BDF – SWAP | Swap-body equipment used in structured distribution and parcel logistics networks. |
| Car Transporter | Specialised transport of vehicles between dealerships, ports and logistics hubs. |
| Cistern | Fuel, chemicals and food liquids, with strong safety procedures and ADR certification required for dangerous loads. |
| Flatbed | Machinery, steel, construction materials and oversized freight. |
Tell us which trucks, trailers and cargo types you have worked with before. This helps the recruitment team focus on vacancies where your existing skills are most relevant.

Would I sign an employment contract in Slovakia?
No. Your employer and employment contract are based in Lithuania. Slovakia is one of the countries that may appear on your international routes rather than your official place of employment.
Why might Slovakia be included in my assignments?
Slovakia sits between several major transport markets, including Austria, Hungary, Czechia and Poland. It can naturally appear on routes travelling between Central, Eastern and Western Europe.
Is Slovak language knowledge necessary?
No. Basic English is usually enough for everyday international transport communication. Slovak or Czech can still be useful when interacting locally, but they are not general requirements.
What kind of driving experience do you expect?
Applicants should already have at least 6 months of international truck driving experience and a valid CE-category licence. Refrigerated or ADR experience may make you suitable for additional vacancies.
Where will I stay during the initial training period?
Your onboarding takes place in Lithuania, where the position is based. Shared accommodation is available during training while you complete the necessary preparation for your first international rotation.
How are the rotations organised?
The main options are 8/4, 10/5 and 12/6, with drivers generally working around 160–190 hours per month. You will receive the exact schedule for your vacancy before accepting the job.
