Requirements

Czechia boasts a strategic position in the European freight network. Its location between Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia makes it a natural transit point for routes moving between Eastern, Central and Western Europe. 

However, keep in mind that no particular country is guaranteed for every rotation. Routes change according to customer demand, cargo requirements and the Lithuanian employer’s logistics schedule. 

Truck Types

International freight work can involve several different vehicle and trailer configurations. Depending on the vacancy, you may work with:

Standard Tautliner A versatile option for general freight, industrial goods, retail deliveries and export cargo.
Refrigerated Used when transporting food, pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive goods across international routes.
BDF – SWAP Swap-body systems suited to organised distribution and logistics networks with structured loading and delivery schedules.
Car Transporter Specialised carriers for moving vehicles between manufacturers, dealerships and other locations throughout Europe.
Cistern Designed for liquid freight and requiring careful safety procedures; some loads may also require ADR certification.
Flatbed Used for machinery, steel, building materials and oversized or specialised cargo.

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International truck drivers are responsible for keeping freight moving safely and efficiently between countries while following route instructions, documentation requirements and working-time rules. 

A typical assignment may involve: 

  • Inspecting the truck and trailer before departure 
  • Receiving route details and delivery instructions 
  • Monitoring loading and ensuring the cargo is safely secured 
  • Driving international freight routes across Europe 
  • Managing driving and rest periods with a digital tachograph

Drivers typically work around 160–190 hours per month, in line with applicable European working and driving-time requirements. Flexible arrangements may also be available for certain positions. 

Salary and Bonuses

Current international truck driver positions range from €2,850 to €3,350 net per month.

Your final earnings may depend on:

Drivers may also qualify for additional ECO driving, mileage and loyalty bonuses.
