What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

As an international truck driver, you will be responsible for transporting cargo safely and efficiently between European destinations, including routes that may pass through Croatia. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Completing vehicle inspections and safety checks before departure 
  • Reviewing routes and delivery instructions with dispatch 
  • Supervising loading and making sure cargo is properly secured 
  • Driving long-distance routes across European countries 
  • Recording driving and working time with a digital tachograph 
  • Completing CMR and other required transport documentation 
  • Following legal driving, break and rest-time requirements 
  • Confirming collections and deliveries 
  • Communicating with dispatchers throughout the journey 
  • Reporting technical problems, delays or route changes

Working Schedule

GOtalent offers several rotation schedules for international truck drivers:

  • 12/6 

Drivers generally work around 160–190 hours per month while following applicable European regulations concerning driving periods, breaks and rest time. 

The exact rotation and work schedule will be confirmed before you accept the position. 

Salary and Bonuses

International truck drivers working for Lithuanian transport companies typically earn between €2,850 and €3,350 net per month.

Your total wages are determined by: 

  • Previous professional driving experience 
  • Monthly mileage 
  • Assigned international routes 
  • Type of transport 
  • Overall work performance 

In addition, competent drivers might be eligible for ECO driving, mileage and loyalty-based bonuses.
