  • Work with experienced Lithuanian transport companies

  • Experience across different European freight corridors

Lithuania serves as a strategic base for long-distance European transport. Routes can extend through Central Europe towards major markets in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and surrounding countries.

Liechtenstein’s location between Switzerland and Austria makes it a popular transit point for international freight assignments.

Requirements

Current vacancies are intended for professional drivers who already have experience working across national borders.

To apply, you should have:

  • A valid CE-category driving licence
  • At least 6 months of international truck driving experience
  • Relevant identification and professional documents

Depending on the position and qualifications you already hold, you may also need:

  • Code 95 professional qualification
  • Digital tachograph driver card
  • ADR certificate for dangerous or specialised freight
  • Applicable residence or employment documentation

Previous refrigerated transport experience can be useful for some vacancies.

Basic English is generally sufficient for everyday communication with dispatchers and logistics teams. German can also be an advantage on routes through Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland and Germany, particularly when communicating locally.

Before offering you a position, the recruitment team will review your documents and confirm the exact requirements connected with the vacancy.

Where You’ll Drive

International driving positions based in Lithuania can cover routes across Central, Western, Northern and Southern Europe.

Depending on the employer’s current transport schedule, you may drive through:

  • Lithuania
  • Liechtenstein
  • Austria
  • Switzerland
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • France
  • Belgium
  • Other European destinations

Liechtenstein’s location gives it an important place within the Central European road network. It lies directly between Austria and Switzerland, with Germany and Northern Italy also within close reach. Some of your assignments might involve passing through the country, collecting freight nearby or delivering goods within the surrounding cross-border logistics region.

However, the destinations included in each rotation depend on customer orders, cargo requirements and your Lithuanian employer’s current transport planning.

Truck Types

International freight assignments can involve several vehicle and trailer configurations depending on the cargo being transported.

You may work with:

Type Used for
Standard Tautliner General cargo and industrial freight moving between Central and Western European markets.
Refrigerated Food, pharmaceuticals and other goods that must remain within controlled temperature conditions throughout transport.
BDF – SWAP Swap-body systems used in scheduled distribution, parcel services and structured logistics networks.
Car Transporter Specialised equipment for transporting vehicles between dealerships, logistics hubs, ports and distribution centres.
Cistern Carrying fuel, chemicals and food-grade liquids, with ADR certification often required for dangerous goods.
Flatbed Transporting heavy machinery, steel, construction materials and oversized or specialist freight.

Include detailed information about the vehicles you have previously operated when completing your application so the recruitment team can assess your practical background more accurately and offer a better match for you.

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International freight driving requires you to manage the entire transport assignment safely and efficiently from departure to delivery.

Your typical responsibilities may include:

  • Inspecting the vehicle and trailer before departure
  • Receiving route plans and delivery instructions from dispatch
  • Supervising loading and checking that cargo is securely fastened
  • Driving international routes across several European countries
  • Monitoring driving hours through a digital tachograph
  • Observing required breaks and rest periods
  • Completing CMR and delivery documentation
  • Confirming collections and completed deliveries
  • Staying in contact with dispatch in English or German where useful
  • Reporting delays, vehicle problems or unexpected route changes

Routes through the Liechtenstein region often involve several neighbouring countries within a relatively short distance, so drivers need to be comfortable operating across different road and logistics environments.

Your exact duties will depend on your assignment, cargo type and Lithuanian employer.

Working Schedule

Several rotation patterns are currently available:

  • 8/4
  • 10/5
  • 12/6

International drivers generally work around 160–190 hours per month. Driving hours, breaks and rest periods are organised in accordance with the EU regulations.

Some vacancies may offer more flexible working arrangements. Your recruiter will explain the schedule linked to the specific position before you decide whether to accept it.

Your monthly income can vary depending on:

  • International driving experience
  • Mileage completed
  • Assigned routes
  • Truck and freight type
  • Overall work performance

In addition, you might be eligible for ECO driving, mileage and loyalty bonuses.

Accommodation and Onboarding

Moving from abroad? We can help you settle in and provide support during the initial onboarding, including a temporary shared accommodation with all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this a truck driving job in Liechtenstein?

The contract itself is based in Lithuania, and you will work for a Lithuanian transport company. Liechtenstein may feature in your international assignments because of its location within the Central European freight network.

Yes, that is possible. Your assignment could take you through Liechtenstein or involve a collection or delivery in the surrounding region. Route planning changes according to current freight demand, so the same destinations are not guaranteed for every rotation.

Despite its small size, Liechtenstein sits between Austria and Switzerland and is close to major German and Italian markets. This places it within an active cross-border transport region used by international freight operators.

Yes, especially on routes through Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. That said, German is not a general requirement for every position, and basic English is usually sufficient for routine communication with dispatch.

You need at least 6 months of international truck driving experience and a valid CE-category licence. Experience with refrigerated freight, ADR transport or other specialist equipment can also improve your suitability for specific vacancies.

Your initial onboarding takes place in Lithuania, where the position is based. You may complete document checks, training and employer-specific preparation there, with shared accommodation available during the training period.
