Apply for an International Truck Driver Job

Interested in a stable, well-paid truck driving position with the possibility of passing through Ireland as part of your international routes?

GOtalent recruits experienced professional drivers for vacancies in international transport.

Your employment contract is with a Lithuanian transport company, while your work takes place across international freight networks. Depending on current logistics planning, Ireland may be on the list as a delivery or collection destination on routes involving ferry or Ro-Ro connections.

What You Get

GOtalent connects qualified drivers with Lithuanian transport companies operating international freight services across Europe.

Depending on the available vacancy, you can benefit from:

  • Stable employment with long-term prospects
  • International driving experience across different European markets
  • Opportunities with established Lithuanian transport companies
  • Social guarantees and employee benefits
  • Additional mileage and performance-based bonuses
  • Assistance when relocating to Lithuania from abroad
  • Experience with different transport systems, routes and cargo types

Lithuania offers access to major freight corridors leading across Central and Western Europe. Some assignments continue towards major ports in Ireland and other coastal countries, giving drivers experience that combines road freight with maritime transport links.

Requirements

These vacancies are intended for professional drivers who are familiar with international transport work.

To apply, you should have:

  • A valid CE-category driving licence
  • At least 6 months of international truck driving experience
  • Relevant professional and identification documents

Depending on your qualifications and the vacancy, you may also need:

  • Code 95 professional qualification
  • Digital tachograph driver card
  • ADR certificate for dangerous or specialised freight
  • Applicable residence or employment documentation

Experience with refrigerated trailers, container transport or ferry-linked international routes can be an advantage for some assignments.

Our recruitment team will review your professional background and confirm the documentation required for the specific vacancy.

Where You’ll Drive

International freight assignments from Lithuania can extend across the Baltic region, Central Europe, Western Europe and destinations reached through ferry connections.

Depending on current route planning, you may travel through:

  • Lithuania
  • Ireland
  • Poland
  • Germany
  • Belgium
  • The Netherlands
  • France
  • United Kingdom
  • Other European destinations

If Ireland forms part of your assignment, the journey may combine long-distance road transport with ferry or Ro-Ro services before you continue towards a collection or delivery point.

The exact route is determined by customer demand, cargo requirements and your Lithuanian employer’s current logistics schedule. Ireland or any other individual destination cannot be guaranteed for every rotation.

Truck Types

International freight to different European markets can involve operating several types of trucks and trailers.

Type Used for
Standard Tautliner General cargo, industrial products, retail freight and other common international shipments.
Refrigerated Food, pharmaceuticals and temperature-sensitive goods that need controlled conditions throughout the journey.
BDF – SWAP Swap-body systems used in organised distribution, parcel transport and structured logistics networks.
Car Transporter Moving vehicles between ports, dealerships, distribution centres and other logistics locations.
Cistern Transporting liquid cargo such as fuel, chemicals or food liquids, with additional certification required for certain loads.
Flatbed Carrying machinery, construction materials, steel and oversized or specialist freight.

Refrigerated and container-related transport experience can be particularly useful for assignments involving port and ferry logistics.

When completing your application, describe the trucks, trailers and cargo you have worked with before. This helps the recruitment team match your practical experience with the right type of international vacancy.

What Does an International Truck Driver Do?

International driving requires you to manage the vehicle, freight, documentation and communication throughout each assignment.

A typical working route may involve:

  • Inspecting the truck and trailer before departure
  • Receiving route plans and delivery instructions from dispatch

Professionalism, safe driving and clear communication are important throughout the journey, particularly when an assignment involves several countries and different transport connections.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this an Ireland-based truck driving job?

No. You would be employed by a Lithuanian transport company. Ireland may appear on your route, but it is not your permanent employment base.

Ireland is connected to other European freight markets through ferry and Ro-Ro services. If you receive an Ireland assignment, the journey will combine road transport across continental Europe with a maritime crossing.

No specific destination can be promised for every rotation. Whether you drive to Ireland depends on the freight orders and route plan your employer has at that time.

It can strengthen your profile for certain assignments, particularly routes linked with ports or maritime freight. It is not a universal requirement, so include any relevant experience and let the recruitment team assess where it is most useful.

Available Lithuania-based positions currently pay approximately €2,850–€3,350 net per month. Mileage, experience, transport type and bonus eligibility can change your final monthly earnings.

Your initial training and onboarding take place in Lithuania, where your contract is based. We will provide you with shared accommodation during this period while you complete the required onboarding for international work.
